Our story, our mission, and the people who have dedicated themselves to healthier communities.
HOPE – Health, Opportunity, Progress & Empowerment – was founded in 2004 by Dr. Gourdas Choudhuri, a distinguished gastroenterologist and public health advocate. HOPE is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to community health education and outreach, working at the intersection of schools, families, and healthcare systems.
With offices in Gurgaon and Lucknow, and programs spanning over 45 districts of Uttar Pradesh, HOPE has spent over 20 years working alongside communities — not for them, but with them — building health awareness that outlasts our direct presence.
Our vision is to improve the health of students, teachers, their families, and other members of the community through schools and community-based outreach. By reaching children in school, we create a chain of health awareness that radiates outward to their families and communities. We run programs in preventive health, disease control, tobacco cessation, hepatitis control, and youth welfare.
Every program is designed with and for the community — ensuring local ownership, relevance, and lasting impact.
We maintain complete accountability in our finances, operations, and impact — built on trust since our founding.
We build programs that communities can sustain independently, long after our direct involvement steps back.
HOPE is led by a dedicated group of health professionals, social advocates, and community leaders united by a shared mission.
